My wife too often asks, "Was I there?" when I share a dream about future live events. This is something I myself often pondered. Where is my wife in all these dreams?
The explanation may not seem appealing to some spouses- not at first. Things that are common in every day environments don't get a lot of attention. That is the reason our spouses don't appear center screen in most dreams.
My wife and I have a great marriage. This may be why dreams don't center on her very often.
Your dreams will focus on your spouse (or other regular facets of your life) when there is a change underway, or something that requires your attention. Otherwise, how often do you dream of your shoes, jeans, or desk? Unless there is a reason an object or a person needs attention, the dream will not focus there. Your wonderful spouse may be standing immediately to your side. But, the dream wants you to see the neighbor practicing witchcraft against you. That is more important, so you look at the witch.
Fact: I have had several dreams in which I did not notice my wife. But, when the events of the dream were fulfilled, she was there. In one other event, I dreamed about a woman whom I did not recognize. But, when the event came to pass, it was my wonderful spouse.
So, don't put too much weight into not noticing your husband or wife in a number of dreams proportionate to the percentage of time you spend together each day. Dreams like the new, unusual, urgent, and other dreams that require action on your part. Most couples compliment each other very well. And, we communicate our needs to one another long before the Holy Spirit needs to warn us in a dream, right?
